The March Pool Upper Kinnaird Beat

http://www.salmon-fishing-scotland.com This is 'Classic' River Tay fly fishing water at its very best. This easily waded fly pool benefits by having a deep channel 5 yards from the bank where many salmon lie during low water conditions. This is one of the most stunning pools on the entire River Tay to fish with breathtaking scenery in all directions. This pool looks up the River Tummel and down the River Tay and incorporates the water at the neck of Lower Kinnaird's Junction Pool from the right hand bank.

The Rock Pool (right bank) Upper Kinnaird Beat

http://www.salmon-fishing-scotland.com Here's a panoramic view of the right hand bank of the prolific Rock Pool on Upper Kinnaird. This bank fishes the fly perfectly and many salmon hold in this pool throughout the season. This video was shot from the rock that the pool was named after and directly in front of this rock there's 25ft of depth which is one of the factors why so many salmon hold up here. The fly stream at the start of the video is where most of the salmon that are caught here are hooked. This pool is a sanctuary for salmon in low water conditions and I would not be surprised if it produces a big fish or two in the forthcoming seasons due to its deep water feature.
